Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) is a fruit rarely seen in Western markets. It can be found across southern Asia, but is native to Indonesia. The tree grows from 6-25 metres in height, producing a small, purple, quite fragrant fruit with almond shaped seeds inside. The interior is divided into sections similar to an orange.
